How moving this is, already only 15 mins into the programme. I was moved to tears by the brave young girl sea cadet reading a poem about her father who died in a submarine when she was 6 yrs old. She walked onto the stage with her brothers while Alfie Boe and Michael Ball were singing. A really touching moment came when Michael turned to give her a lovely reassuring smile between the verses of "you'll never walk alone".

Our freedom Vetuste! Surprised you even had to ask why? The conditions in the WW1 trenches in particular must have been horrendous, the bombing in the second world war terrifying and the atrocities seen in modern day conflict would leave you scared forever.

There's a generation of kids here, Mamya, who don't know Hitler and Nazism. Or Stalin. And they and there elders (but not betters) have a policy of importing fascists.

It was good to see Alexander Armstrong there doing what he was trained for, and doing it very well too.

I do hope he gets more opportunities to sing on TV.
