Tension Type Headaches..any Advice?

Out of the blue about a month ago, I developed a tight, dull, constant headache. I tried paracetamol, ibuprofen and eventually cocodamol, but none of them helped. I went to the doctor, who examined me and sent me for a blood test. My results were clear and the doctor said it was tension type headache, and there's not a lot I can do. I try relaxation, mindfulness, good diet, exercise, sleep well, etc. It's still there. Does anyone have any advice or know of any remedies that would work? Thanks.

Thanks for all of the responses. The cold strip hasn't cured it but does give it slight relief for a short time. I drink decaf all of the time and I haven't used artificial sweeteners, my doctor says my blood pressure is fine... so I am looking into the rest of the advice and hopefully I will come across one that helps. Much appreciated! :-)
