Chris, Yes we have enough problems coping with an 'invasion' of the EU by people from the middle east let alone an invasion of Earth from outer space!
Quite an interesting thread that went downhill towards the end.

To be fair AOG, it's judgemental people here on Earth such as yourself that cause the problems on Earth, so it's apples and oranges.
Yeah, they may come to conquer and destroy, or they may see us making a good enough job of it ourselves and back away quietly.

What qpro means to be.......is totally unfair. Whilst virtue signalling like mad, I am going to be viciously judgmental, is the meaning of the slight. Perhaps most of the world's problems are caused by the non delivering pie in the sky merchants giving false hope and encouragement whilst themselves sitting pretty an refusing to budge over. Space moonies all.
'Space Moonies' that should be a TV show.

/// We'd all be hiding in our own villages unaware of most of the world's land masses. One makes no gain with such a pessimistic attitude. ///

Blimey OG there are many who wished that we had stayed hiding in our villages, and not going out seeking our world's land masses.

That is if their constant criticism of our discoveries and colonial adventures are anything to go by.

And is it not you also, who is being judgemental of me?
ANOTHEOLDGIT, are you saying it would have been better if the Romans, Vikings, Angles, Saxons and the Normans had not invaded these shores? Without their contributions, is it likely the native Celts and Britons would have developed to where we are now?
If invasions are inevitable then it is better to invade than be invaded.

But better still to realise we all profit most from forming friendly relations.
