You need to be in the court public gallery or rely on reports in the local paper.Courts are only allowed to reveal sentence details to those who 'have an interest in the case' such a witnesses, relatives or victims.
There is always a 'court reporter' who writes up cases for the papers, if you can see find them they may help.
courts of appeal don't pass sentence, do they? They might amend one that's already been passed.
Yes and also remember that the Court of Appeal can also overturn a conviction entirely.
What type of case is it?
As said The court of appeal, does not hand down sentences.

This is a case where sentence was passed in Crown Court last month but the police appealed the sentence which was very lenient. The person was convicted of multiple sex offences against children but was only given 30 months conditional discharge. The problem for me is that I now live in that persons former home and the newspapers published his old address.
I assume this is an appeal against conviction and/or sentence.

Some CA judgements are published on their website here:-

https://www.judiciary.gov.uk/court/court-of-appeal/

Some can also be found on baiLli.org here:- http://www.bailii.org/form/search_advanced.html

If you know who is acting it might be worth looking on their website since you will often see a case report "Mr Snooks successful at CA in having sentence for owning a parakeet without a licence reduced".

Otherwise, just call the Court and ask them.

Best place for AG Reference cases (this is what it will be - police cannot appeal an unduly lenient sentence, only the Attorney General can refer it to the CA) is bailli.

Thanks Barmaid that's just what I needed. The police have put on extra patrols to help prevent any vigilante issues and I have spoken to the Chambers for the prosecuting counsel and the newspapers to ensure that the correct address is used. House has no near neighbours and we haven't left the house together since the newspaper articles hit the news. We have good security and 2 mastiffs. The whole issue is horrible, no wonder they were so keen to move.
The appeal no matter which way it goes will not help your problem. You need to see the editor of the paper and get them to publish an apology and make it clear the accused does not live at your address!

Eddie51 I have already done that. I didn't ask for a retraction I just needed to make sure the wrong address wasn't in the paper again with the result of the appeal. I checked with the chambers that the accused hadn't deliberately left the old address on file to deflect any adverse publicity and he hadn't, it was the papers which had googled the address and got it wrong
I would definitely ask for a retraction, many people will still remember the original article.
That must be a nightmare!

Just found this so I guess there may be no asking the court what the sentence is
I have removed the name
REFERENCE BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL UNDER S.36 CJA 1988

At last we can relax. The Court of Appeal did not impose a custodial sentence but the Manchester Evening news has printed his correct address. I call that a result. Many thanks for your answers, information and support
