Hi dot, It is the most reliable thing there is,nobody knows a child better than the parents, specially the bond between a mum and child, if the mum says somethings wrong ,then there probably is, take care, Ray xx

It was for me too Dot. I never had any maternal instinct at all until my child was born and it kicked in at the great age of 36! My maternal instinct served me well and I wish I followed it more than listening to well intentioned advice from some professionals.

Snap Ray. We posted together. Love KV xxxx
Hi KV,hope you are well and behaving,it is a bond between father and daughter that made us post at the same time, love dad xx

i have a great instinct with my son, he cant speak but i always know what he wants and whats the matter with him, when he was younger i was going to my ex inlaws for dinner and halfway there i demanded to be taken back, i had this feeling something waas wrong, when i got home my mum was getting callum ready to go to the hospital with a severe bout of croup.

I annoy the hospital as i have no qualms in telling them what they can and cant try with him, i know him better than anyone and mums should be listened to a lot more

Yes. Although I am a bit marlon about my kids. I am also very motherly with any children.
My granny phoned my mum up the day my dad left us, to check everything was ok. She always seems to know, even with her grandchildren.
As one of those dreaded health care professionals, I would say 95% of Mums have a good maternal instinct, and the other 5% are downright dangerous. One Mum in particular would send her child to school when he actually was in such a state he required hospital admission on more than one occasion. Thankfully he was eventually taken into care, and has made dramatic improvements health wise.
cambellking, my son has a school friend who was sent in by his parents with a severe tummy bug in november, gave all the other kids and half of the staff the winter sickness bug, its a special school so most of the kids get transport and the mum rang transport the next day to see why they hadnt picked up her son for school, and she steadfastly refuses to ever take him to the doctors!

My husband & I have always had great maternal instincts with our two daughters since the day they were born.

There's nothing like a Mum & Dad's guidance & love to send you on that long journey in life too!
