Just as the section regarding the Osbourne statement was finishing on the 6oc BBC News yesterday, the reporter said something that would cheer everyone up! - about the extra cost of air tickets next year - I have been unable to find out any more and wondered if anyone else has more information on this.

It`s the hike in air passenger duty from April next year. The airlines have condemned it and lobbied the Government but to no avail.

Our local airport is offering free tickets at the moment, all you have to pay is the fees and taxes - which is still more than the price of the original tickets!
