I started the menopause at about the age of 52 and, although I'm nearly 70, I'm still getting hot flushes. My doctor has told me there's nothing that can be done about it. What's the oldest anyone has been before their hot flushes ended?

So he hasn't even given you a trial of Norethisterone or Clonidine?

I'd go back and have another chat if I were you and don't just allow him to fob you off?

Thanks, NoMercy. I'll be right back to him.
Im the same. He can do a certain blood test. Just ask your doc x
Don't know, wish mine would stop. I started at 49 - I was 67 yesterday and sat sweating and feeling ill today. :(

On the bright side, my bone density is OK and they say that's because I still have hormones.

It's comforting, Jordain2, (if that's the right word!) to know there's someone out there about my age who's still suffering.

I've had four different types of blood tests but nothing showed up.
There is medication for the hot flushes. I have had two different types but they havent worked for me. I have to carry a fan and face wipes. I always look like ive had a pint of water thrown in my face and my hair (fringe) drips. Had every test goin. Just puts me off goin out at times. Menopause is awful. Wish it would end. x
