The best before dates are all months in 2010. I've binned them but how long would they have been good for?

I was opening a fresh sachet last week, lamb with peas and carrots, and the thought crossed my mind that it might be quite tasty.
Funny what hunger can do to the mind.
I would have open one to see, you would soon know if it had gone off! Most probably absolutely fine as they are vacuum sealed.
6 years far too long - that is why we have best before
Not always so, Jenny, look at Ladybirders thread.
well I wouldn't give them to my wee animal
sandy - dogs eat cat carp and other such 'delicious' things. She would eat it and you would have had to wait and see if she was going to barf or not.

I've just used a Marigold bouillon powder that had a best before date of 2010. It seems OK but time will tell.
Sandy - sorry for digressing.

I created an account with the Libraries etc. Email went forward, created a Pin Number. Accepted. When next I logged on wouldn't recognise Pin No and asked if I wanted a new one - for easy sake - i said yes but nothing has come into my emails - what can I do next. Thanks

Are you near a library, Jennyjoan? Could you go in and ask someone to help you? I can't think of anything else to suggest.
Thanks Sandy - I am near many libraries as I have my car - will get sorted out (I hope) within a cuppla days.
On a TV programme the other day they opened a 45 year old tin of sardines.

They were tested for bacteria - clear, and eaten - tasted fine.
