The only problem with these films is usually considered to be related to contact with foods were some material might be transfered to the food, the film itself is a complete product and as such should not give off any fumes during use. See here for some info on the stuff.

There are two issues here: dangers presented by the material itself and dangers from the machinery/process that is using it.

Under the Health & Safety at Work Act, your employer should have carried out a risk assessment which covers both. If you have concerns that the material or process may pose a risk you should ask to see the Risk Assessment.

If your request is refused, or if you think the assessment is unsatisfactory, seek advice from the Environmental Health Department of your local authority. They have the powers to examine the measures which employers must take to protect their employees.
