I personally wouldn't do that if I could avoid it because brownies are supposed to be crisp on the outside and gooey, but not gungy on the inside. Cooking them individually makes it easy to overcook them and then it's just cake.
If you have to cook them in a cake tin I would turn the oven down and cook for between 8 and 10 mins before testing. If it looks good but isn't crispy, shove it under the grill for a minute to crisp up the top.
It rather depends what's in the packet mix.

could i just put the mixture on a flat tray?
hi trt, have you got a priex dish or something similar? that will work better than cup cake cases. grease it with loads of butter before putting the mixture in first though or they will be a nightmare to get out once backed
Question Author
priex dish, tandh?

Do you mean pyrex, and glass?

Sorry I am a bloke, first time.
Yes...don't put it on a baking sheet, it'll just fall off the edges :(
yes, any type of dish that you cook veggies, meat or crumble in. Like scorpiojo said though the sides need to be at least 2 or 3 inches high or it will just slop all over everywhere. Try and put it in a square or rectangle dish as it will look better when you cut them up. really put loads of butter on before through - about the same you would put on bread, or if you have any grease proof paper that will work even better
and you're so sweet as well - well done for trying and you're just like me, cooking at midnight. Once they've cooked leave it to cool down for ten mins and then cut around the whole edge with a knife and tip the dish upside down to get it out
