jambutty - //Chuckle at Khandro. //

No thanks, he doesn't make me laugh, he just makes me feel sad.
No
I liked his post.
Unfortunately, as has been said, it's impracticable to intern them all.
But I can see it coming for those 'on the radar', on 24/7 watch etc.
Hand-wringing and lighting candles are going out of fashion, Andy, thank goodness.

I wouldn't know - you brought the subject up.
Andy - werent you the one this morning insisting that no one was saying that 100% of muslims were bad ?
whiskeyRon clearly thinks so they are ....
PP He didn't say that, read the OP again.
Peter Pedant - //Andy - werent you the one this morning insisting that no one was saying that 100% of muslims were bad ?

No.
Hmm so whiskeyRon was saying - intern them because they are innocent ?

interesting .....
PP You got both the post and his name wrong, I don't think it is a serious proposition, but an indication that the Muslim community should be held in corporate responsibility for the bloodshed being committed in their name. Huffing and puffing isn't enough.
Hi PP. Judging by his previous posts I am pretty certain whiskeryon is being mischievous here.
Khandro - 'Corpoprate responsibility' - ?

Where do you find these notions - do you have vivid dreams?
I also doubt whiskeryron was advocating corporate responsibility, khandro. it was someone else (maybe you?) who introduced the concept yesterday. Totally unworkable of course
Corporate organisations have a head. Is there an equivalent for the Muslims?

I do think that it is time that all peaceful Muslims should 'step up to the plate'. How do we give them that opportunity without alienating the well-integrated ones?

Instinct says that they should all be registered - but that is not an answer in any way, far too heavy handed. We do need to know who are the harmless, more-or-less-integrated people. (Please don't get at me for any nit-picking point here, it's difficult.) Any ideas welcome.

A voluntary registration system perhaps? Even that is not safe; if I harboured terrorist inclinations I would sign a book saying that I was safe. :(
^^^Perhaps an identity card system for everyone, with an indication of religious affiliation would be the best idea. I've mentioned this before - I don't mind and I can't think most people would.

Me, white, ethnicity British/Celtic, born in England and Christian, sub-section mainstream (very broad) C. of E.. There, what is so hard? They can have my fingerprint and eyeball print if they want.

We must accept that we are at a strange sort of war. People want to kill us, so we have to go into places we don't want to go. :(
I agree with the sentiment, Jourdain, in that I am not aware of any official spokespersons for Muslims- an equivalent of a pope or archbishop, or even at a lower level, even if it is only to make it clear that although these acts are being done in the name of the religion by a few fanatics (although I suspect there are tens of thousands who would be prepared to commit such acts), the vast majority of Muslims do not accept their actions as being justified and they will certainly not be rewarded in heaven
A religious ID card will never happen, I'm certain, Jourdain.
