Surely has to be the food of late night snacks !!

I've just devoured. 2 slices of Kingsmill with lashings of Lurpak !

What's your favourite bread and topping at late o' clock ?

(Kimgsmill wasn't my fave bread )

I buy bread from a proper bakery and eat it toasted with proper butter and either sardines ,cheese ham and toms, quark and apricot jam, eggs either fried or scrambled. My favourite way of eating toast though is to let it go cold ,slap thick butter on it and then dip it in my cup of tea :0)

If I have cheese on toast it has to be Red Leicester. Cheddar is too bland.
ooh, another one, toasted cheese, when cheese has just melted pop sliced tomatoes on and whack back under the grill.
yummy!!
Margo
Mature cheddar and marmalade was always a favourite years ago when I ate breakfast.
Warburtons White Super Toastie Extra Thick makes the best toast, but getting very hard to find - they may even have stopped it.
Nit sure about that Retro but prepared to give it a go, thick cut bitter orange marmalade. I do love a blackcurrant jam and cheese sandwich though.
I don't think Red Leicester melts the same as it used to in days gone by and it 'sets' itself quite quickly too - or I'm just getting slower at eating...

Margo - may I make a suggestion?

Make up your usual blackcurrant jam and cheese sandwich, toast it, but remember to open it out after toasting both sides of the bread so the filling will melt and bubble, please don't burn your mouth tho !!

(Hope you are improving health-wise xx)
What is quark?
Low fat cream cheese jack .
Albs - I'll give that a try sounds delicious. Getting there slowly but surely thanks xx

Wow! Think I'll just go and put some toast on! Peanut butter is another favourite ... seems marmite isn't quite as you either love or hate it ! Every answer was brilliant so thanks but I have to say shanyestar did make me dribble (mouth) just that more ;)
Pork scratchings... my guilty pleasure.
Lime marmalade. and Ive just opened a pot of lovely blackberry jelly.
As a special treat, you cant beat a sandwich made with nice thick white bread and smoked salmon, with one side of the sandwich spread with cream cheese.
