my son and his wife want to travel to london. do they need passports? my daughter in law has one but has expired. my son has photo id ie.driving licence
If you are outside of the UK (excluding Eire) then yes they'll need passports. If you are in the UK/Eire and wish to travel by plane you now need valid, in date photo ID but not necessarily a passport. Hope this helps. If you are in Ireland and use the ferry you don't need photo ID. Where are they coming from? I've tried to cover all bases but it's difficult since you don't state a starting point:)
many airlines now require passports or valid phot id (drivers licence) for internal UK flights (BA being one) so make sure that your son and wife check with the ticket agent or airline before the purchase flight tickets.
i recently wanted to arrange a flight for my daughter (edinburgh to manchester). ryanair said she would need a valid photo id which also says she is british..... now then.....that would be a passport!
