But will Corbyn be allowed to fight her?

It is all down to the interpretation of this rule:

// ii. Where there is no vacancy nominations may be sought by potential challengers... In this case any nomination must be supported by 20 per cent of the combined Commons members of the PLP and members of the EPLP. Nominations not attaining this threshold shall be null and void.” //

How do you read that?

Yes QM, the last few weeks have convinced me that JC is decent bloke, by far the best candidate Labour has that we know about. He Leads a party full of charlatan back stabbers. I agree with almost none of JC's utterances but he has more sincerity in his little finger than the rest of his party combined. It is quite shocking that the caring sharing Labour party are trying to depose their leader in the way that they are. It's supposed to be the Tories that are the "nasty" party, they currently can't touch Labour on that score!
How very gracious of you, TTT...thank you. I say that totally sincerely...and I'm not Hughie Green!
Latest news today, member of Labour party going to High Court in effort to have NEC's decision to allow Corbyn on ballot paper overturned
Seems daft to me. Are they so concerned Eagle hasn't enough support ? If she doesn't then what's wrong with leaving things as they are and trying to make it stable instead ? The wording seemed plain enough anyway, and it is only common sense that one vets the challengers to ensure they are not holding a trivial challenge; there is no such concern about the incumbent.

Seems some in the 'anyone but Corbyn' camp is being as unable to accept decisions as some of the 'remain' camp were/are. And it is sad folk (with the money) now seem to be as keen to take things to the court as the Americans usually are. Perhaps another part of their culture taking root here ?
..are being...
'tis true

also true is that the "Unite" union are inviting corbyn supporters to sign up as associates, for a right to vote, thus circumventing the NEC's 6-month rule on voting eligibility.

this soap opera just keeps on giving..... :-)
I don't think Brian Rix could have written a better farce
indeed Danny - just wondering which of the cast will take the Rix part and lose his trousers.......
The (now-ex) Tory minister and Theresa May challenger, Stephen Crabb, seemed to be making heroic efforts to "lose his trousers" by sexting a very young woman. How farcical was that?
