I am curious what hairdressers do with the hair they cut off people's head. Does it just get put in the normal bins or is there somewhere sinister it goes ?

At our salon, we just chuck it in the bin but a while ago one of the customers asked us to collect it for them.Can't remember why now but it wasn't very interesting anyway.it was disgusting all together in a carrier bag! yuk.

but hair doesn't deteriorate very quickly does it? so all the hair we have had cut off over the years is sitting somewhere, a small part of us abandoned!

You can indeed. I also watched Grand Designs once and they were using human hair (among other things!) as insulation for their house!

A barber I used to go to, swept it up and a chap came in once a week and took it for his tomatoes/allotment.
