Replacing Netbook Batteries

I'm a bit miffed having had to bin my tablet due to failure of the battery, so I'd like to upgrade to a Netbook. Do Netbook's typically have user replaceable battery packs or is the battery pack internal [like a tablet]? If Netbook battery packs are replaceable, what would the approximate cost be?

Yes and they are streets ahead of Tablets. I have a Acer Aspire One 722. Its got a AMD Dual-Core C60 Processor, with 2 GB memory, and a 320 GB Hard Disc. It also has a 11.5 inch screen, corner to corner, so its not small really.

I bought it from Comet ( ! ) May 2012 in a branch in Cornwall, while I was on hols in the caravan. My old laptop caught fire and I just managed to throw it out the door of the 'van in time ! It was 6 years old, so I didn't mind that much. I suppose it cost about £300, so £50 a year really can't be said to be terribly expensive.

Can't praise the Acer highly enough...just like a proper laptop but smaller, neater, and much lighter. I'm not sure of the cost of replacement batteries but they should be available on ebay. But if you use it wisely, always running the batteries down fully, before re-charging, then you probably won't need new ones for a while, if ever.

The difficulty with Tablets is that they really aren't "proper" computers
( I know, I know....I can hear the howls of protest coming my way from all over The Known World ) but my Acer has all the ports that any PC would have, including 4 USBs, plus it has a real keyboard. Typing on a Tablet keyboard would drive you mad, very quickly, if you had to do more than the odd email.

To argue against myself though, I also have a small Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch. Its fun and you can curl up in bed with it and watch free TV through the CatchupTV App, but it has its limitations.

Acer are always bringing out new little jobbies, so mine may have been replaced but they do plenty of others, all about £200-£300. Try Tesco and get points as well !

Hope this helps !

It should be possible to replace the battery - I've replaced the screen on my ipad.
Hi,
I have a packard bell netbook Dot s N2600. I have had it for over 4 years now without any trouble. A replacement battery in white is £16.68p but the black one is £34.00. Don't know why so expensive, maybe it is the colour.
Hope this helps.

bye
