Iwas picking my son up from school yesterday, when a few fellow parents were waiting outside ny the gate where we all usually stop for a chat. Anyway all our attentions turned to our friend susan who has had a turn of bad luck lately with her husband being made redundant as well as other things. and we asked her how they were managing nowadays, afterall there has been so many times she has been crying on our shoulders about how skint they are and how she's worried she is going to lose there home etc. Naturally we all have really felt for her and offered to help in whatever way we could wether it being babysitting so they dont have to pay for childcare and i have even lent her money on a couple of occasions. Well to our suprise she comes out with how there better off than ever at the moment and how she's off on a weekend away with the girls from work and how she has got to get her nails done etc before she goes. I for one was shocked by this as a few weeks before she was pouring out her concerns to us all so i said ' thats fantastic i take it your man has got another job? to which she replied ' well between you and me hes got a job in my dads pub off the books, weve got a 6 month mortgage holiday because hes on the dole, we have got reduced council tax, weve got more money than ever now than when we were both working!' Maybe im just bitter, who knows but i feel she is bang out of order, everyone is feeling the pinch nowadays and have struggles but she is taking the mick here and is abusing the system and me as many of times i have helped out. Why do so many people get away with this??????????? Im not a grass so i wont report it but im so mad at her i just want to scream, me and my partner work our backsides into the ground and what help do we get........nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway i just needed to get that off my chest, what do you think?

what goes around comes around. Watch this space...! lol
I would have been on the phone rightaway! Report!!
Sounds like she having a laugh at our expense, however I do take on board what onlyme said as I did know one chap who did some uncredited work whilst signing on but that was to buy a van and when he did so he signed off immediately and set himself up as a mobile valeter which really didn't offend me too deeply as he'd tried and tried to get on his feet whilst only claiming the dole and had failed miserably.to my knowledge he hasn't been unemployed since. This person however is clearly just living it up at our expense.

Right then ive done it..ive reported them! like some of you have said if im that mad about it then i should do something about it, so i have. Im so sick of decent hard working people getting a raw deal whilst others just take us for mugs. The system is there to help genuine people in times of need, not for p!!s takers
Good for you GG. Thats another sponger off our backs:-)
Well done GG. xx
I worked for the Benefit's Agency back in 1996 (did 3 months in Fraud department). Everything you tell them is confidential! Good for you for reporting this sponger!
If someone came into your house & helped themselves to money off the table or sideboard would you report them or would you say ''I'm not a grass'' what they are doing is exactly the same they are stealing from you & all the rest of us use your phone 0800 854 440,you don't have to give your name or address.
Good for you gossipgirl.
Hmm and you are her friend right!!!
well done gossip girl i wouldve done the same.
And don't start feeling guilty because you have done the right thing here.
poor kids
gossipgirl,
IF this is a true story, you and your friends must be the most gullible bunch of people around! Either that or else none of you have the common sense you should have been born with!!
However, this whole post just MIGHT be a wind-up? Who me? Cynical and suspicious? NEVER!!!!!!!!
you've done the right thing gossipgirl. If more people reported what they knew then maybe people would think twice before commiting fraud.
I know for a fact that if I stopped working and claimed for everything I could get my hands on, I'd be much better off - except for the fact that I'd never be able to feel proud of the fact that I'm doing my best to do the right thing.

6 months mortgage break might be a nice 6 months, but what after that?

I'd rather struggle on.
to echo what everyone else is saying, please report her. It's people like this that take away money from people that really need.

please take a look at this link, i really think if more people were to report benefit fraud, this wouldn't be happening
yeee! sorry, just read your last post. Well done, now we just need everyone that knows of people committing benefit fraud to report them, and then we'll get this county back into shape
