Sounds like they are steering their daughters towards being boys to me. I feel sorry for these kids as they grow up. Also I bet these mothers are a real bundle of laughs on a night out, the only topic of conversation will be politics and feminism, yawn.

/// I have refused a screaming child a pink frock resulting in a full on tantrum , usually because we had gone to buy school shoes ///

But how did 'HE' get on with the shoes? :0)

Thanks for your cordial welcome. I am still in the Krankenhaus as is Baldric so watch out for anarchy on the streets!! I am still able to keep observatons on AB. :-)
My little lad is dressed in mainly blue and my baby girl (when born) will be dressed in mainly pink, until they can make up their own minds and if that makes me weird, then I am weird (haha)......

Oh sorry to hear that, hope both of you will soon be out and about, but in the meantime still try and continue to fight the good fight.

Best of luck :0)

Not weird at all Viv, just normal, and don't you let anyone alter that.

A considerable amount of spurious psychobabble in this Daily Mail article.

The status quo successfully conditioned into some posters but it is not likely they will ever be aware of this.

Maybe some think a predisposition to pink or blue is coded in the child's genes at birth; advertising pressure and social conformity so ingrained it is effectively invisible... but the blues, pinks and reds of the leering panty/bra eye candy and their background might burn into a few memory cells.

People just dress babies in pink or blue, because otherwise you can't tell what sex they are. It's just a code to stop other people embarrassing themselves by using him/her wrongly.
