I am reading his "Dales" books at the moment...they are like the Herriot books but kids instead of animals ! I am really enjoying them and I would recommend anyone else to give them a go !

I read them all some years ago Mikey and yes they are really good light reading.
He has a magical way of telling his tales, I love to hear him too.

What I am wondering though is how he has concealed all the characters in his books ? .....Mrs Savage for instance !

And he has mentioned 100's schools and Teachers by name, which can't be their real names....quite a feat of the use of pseudonyms I am thinking !
Love his books, Mikey.....and if you get the chance to see him on stage do go......and sit near a group of female teachers!....☺
He has two DVDs out on his anecdotes: http://www.gervase-phinn.com/gervase_pages/gervase_dvd.htm
I thoroughly enjoy them as well. He's got a new central character now, an insurance salesman, set in the '50s.

Thanks everybody....I shall check out his other novels !
I enjoyed them too and his Little Village School novels.

I started reading the first book in the "Little Village School" series last night and already I am hooked ! Such real characters, that leap out of the page.
Question Author
I have now finished my third "Little Village School" book. A trifle mawkish but still very enjoyable nevertheless.
