mp4 is video,mp3 is audio

im not sure you can convert mp4 to mp3 but im probably wrong.

what you think I dont know what I'm talking about? mp4 is a audio file specifally for a ipod user. well my friend and i are sharing music and my zen microphoto, doesnt use mp4(which is audio)i am looking for a converter. thanks

.mp4 is the official filename extension for MPEG-4 Part 14 files. It is a multimedia container format standard, based on Apple's QuickTime container format, most commonly used to store digital audio and digital video streams.

While the only official file extension defined by the standard is .mp4 various file extensions are commonly used to indicate intended content.

• Audio that is protected by FairPlay digital rights management uses the .m4p extension.


• Audio book and podcast files can use the extension .m4a, but more commonly use the .m4b extension.


• Video generally uses the .mp4 and .m4v extensions, sometimes also .mp4v.


• 3G mobile phones use 3GP, a simplified version of MPEG-4 Part 14, with the .3gp and .3g2 extensions.
