Firstly, there's an awful lot of esoteric bull in that link but, that aside, it is, IMHO a matter of conscience. If you can't find your niche in life where you can balance your view of the evils going on in the world, against your own personal happiness, then this must cause a great deal of angst.
Those who fight against the evil have a drive and a vocation which I simply wasn't born with.
My daughter is embarking upon a road which will lead to her being a Social Worker which I just don't have the dedication / calling to do.

Why should I (or anyone) agonise about things I can’t change? In fact why agonise about things I can change? Does the agonising help? No.
There seems to be a current subtext that if we watch a distressing video or sound off on a website, we have actually DONE something to make a change, that its somehow needful to wallow in the bad stuff otherwise we risk being labelled uncaring or insensitive. ZM is right about finding the balance. You do what you can, do what you feel called to do and and take time to enjoy the good stuff.
