Has anyone ever met anyone famous that they admired, but having met them they proved to be complete divas, bad attitude etc?

Well over 40 years ago part of an episode of The Saint was being recorded outside our house and all the crew were trying to persuade me to speak to Roger Moore, telling me what a lovely man he was, but I was too shy (5 or 6 years old by the way). He had an orange face from the make up and this made me nervous. Mum says he was really nice.

Now work in Tesco and often see Laurence Lewellyn Bowen in store. Always nice to staff and customers. Also Andrew Ridgely lives here and is very pleasant.

Oh my God, did you say Andrew Ridgeley, THE Andrew Ridgeley???? I am soooooooo jealous. I was so in love with him in the 80's. Never into George Michael, just Andrew. sighs

Yes THE Andrew Ridgely - frequent customer.

Love your username by the way - wish I had thought of it as it would be apt.

I take it you're Julie too then. Mine was a nickname that one of my bestest friends used to call me, he is no longer around as he lives in the USA so its a bit of a tribute to him really. He used to phone when visiting and say "hello unrulie" and i didn't even know he was over here! im not in any way unrulie!!! lol was never quite sure how unrulie was spelt so i went with the version thats spelt like julie, sorry for hi-jacking your post LaLaLand. apologies.
a friend who worked in a carpark told me that johnnie ball (zoe's dad) and ub40 were horrible
I met Paul Daniels at a magic convention where I was working as a barman. Slightly excentric but a genuinely nice and down to earth guy, also gave me a tip when I served him.
I met Billy Connolly he was an utter gentleman gracious and charming

A friend of mine met Marti Pellow

yes you guessed it a total W@nker

No No No No No, don't tell me that,Qmark i have loved Marti since 1988. I have seen him in concert 3 times and think hes fantastic! I have heard he's a bit horrible though, but i have always closed my ears around people who mutter such words!!! :-(

I was privileged once to meet Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch. Utterly normal charming people.

Before my old mans business went bust,he owned several racehorse.

One of them ran at Kempton Park,in the same race as one owned by the late Maktoum al Maktoum, and his brother Sheik Mohammed. We were in the next "box" as the brothers,as we watched the race. Our horse beat theirs so they sent in some champers.

They were both utterly charming, although they laughed at my request for them to buy West Bromwich Albion F.C.

I have just spoken to a techy who worked with Morrisey - guess what he said he was a right laugh - bit funny about meat backstage but a really nice bloke!!!! Who would have thought it
Had the opportunity to meet Muhammed Ali 8 years ago and he was charming, very happy to pose for photos and chat to everyone. Also met Robin Williams, quite funny really, we were in a shopping mall in San Francisco and looking for a parking space, so we followed this quy who had shopping bags with him, obviously going back to his car!! Turned out to be Robin Wiliams, he actually thought we were stalking him but when we explained we wanted his space he was fantastic, stood and chatted for a while, cracking jokes and gaves us his autograph and allowed us to be photographed with him, a great guy all round. I have also met Johnny 'whats another year' Logan, another absolute gentelman with a great sense of humour, My friend went up to him and said 'you're Johnny Logan aren't you? I saw you perform in Dungannon in 1982', to which he replied 'yes I am and if you have come for your money back your are too late'. Priceless!!!
Sorry julie but the bloke has a face i wouldnt stop punching

Sweet G's talking about Eoin McLove. Not sure of how similar he is to Daniel O'Donnell, but my Mum once saw him (Daniel!) at mass, near where he was playing a concert!

I met Ray Winstone when I was a teenager and he was very nice.

I saw Frank Skinner at mass once - very nice bloke afterwards but I imagined him to be a little bit taller
