Can you freeze homemade cakes i.e sponge cakes, muffins etc? Thanks.

Freeze as soon as cold/cooked. Do not re-freeze once defrosted. Eat within 3 days of defrosting.


Don't ice them though - do this when you want to eat them.

yes you definately can. i had cake in my freezer for 2 years, yes 2 years and it was good and delicious like freshly baked. but you must wrap them well before freezing.

thanks, am going to do a lot of baking for my little boy's birthday, it will be good to not have a rush job the day before!
