Have just got one which I know I cause myself cos it's where I use dental floss.

Try ebay for dental floss sticks. Its floss strung on plastic handle, should save your thumb.

Dont overdo flossing till gums bleed. It can cause gingivitus. If your teeth wobble - stop!

Lol! No, I'm careful with flossing, and thanks for understanding about how it's caused a crack in my thumb, was worrying about how to explain it if anyone asked! ;)

Germolene stuff not worked as good on thumb as it did on finger :( Going to need a plaster for a while :(
