Bowie - liver cancer
Rickman - pancreatic
I don’t think the newspapers should print every in and out of what people died from unless its in the public interest to know.
Both are related to alcohol, and maybe diet.
Bowie did live a hedonistic life of self indulgence for many years.

69 is not a bad age considering.

thanks guys
Public interest? Thousands of women worshiped the actor Rock Hudson (including my mum!) only to find out that he died from HIV. It seems only his very close friends were aware of the fact during his final months. In his case, as sordid as it was, it was undoubtedly in the public interest.
Why is a person's sexuality in the public interest?

However, the cause of death is a matter of public record and anyone can get this information about anybody, in the UK at least.

"Public interest" is frequently salacious, but that doesn't mean it has to be satisfied.
Why describe Rock Hudson life as sordid?
I would've thought cigarettes were Bowies downfall

Cause of death....Ciggy Tar Dust
I suppose if you were some air head groupie who was happy to be counted as one of Charlie Sheen's conquests (allegedly 5,000) and had unprotected sex with him you might like to know if he knowingly passed it on to you.

Things that are 'in the public interest' are rarely the same things that 'interest the public'.

Has Charlie Sheen died?
Panky.....that's terrible. But it did raise a smile.

Nice tribute to the Eagles / Glen Frey on R2 sounds of the seventies this aft. Worth looking up on iplayer.

Really??? Presumably you have not known anyone who had pancreatic cancer?? I have and I can assure you the person concerned did not have a hedonistic lifestyle or otherwise. Alan Rickman was a very private man, sadly the press love celebrities who plaster their lives across the pages so making up stories when they have no evidence is a typical fleet street trick. RIP Alan Rickman. A very good actor and private man.
I never mentioned Alan Rickman having a hedonistic lifestyle. Just David Bowie, which he did, I've read his book.

At 69 the causes of cancer could be related to numerous things, or just bad luck.
It was Marshwarble's comment I was referring to Ummmm. Just rattles my chain a little when sweeping statements are made-not yours as noted above.Cancer doesn't care.

My son had pancreatici's, he was only 5yrs old, and didn't drink alcohol.
