My friend has been working all shifts as a station master for a long time, and normally British Rail are only too pleased to take on staff in all areas, as they tend to be chronically short staffed. Go to your nearest station, and they'll give you a number to call to find out who is needed and where. They also used to put signs up when they needed staff, but that may have stopped since they went private.
