My Chest Hurts And I Feel Poorly.

Two weeks before Christmas, I started with a really bad cough, sleepless nights, bouts of uncontrollable coughing, headaches etc etc. Beechams All in One became my Christmas tipple!

A week ago, the coughing began to abate and I do not now have a cough. However, today, my chest really hurts and I have begun to feel poorly.

I have not taken any Beechams for a week. Do I need to go back to it or is it time for a visit to the GP?

Could it have become a chest infection, without a cough?

Emergencies are important, DTC. One always has to be prepared for emergencies.
yep - and being out in the sticks here, four wheels are essential - the keys taken by me at night as we have delusions about being back in the original home town.....
Does anyone still put their head under a towel with a bowl of steaming water with eucalyptus oil in it to help their chests? Like Vic but more internal!

I don't because it affects my skin. The skin on my face would react badly to steam. I'm a sensitive little soul.
Maybe the coughing has caused chest pain? Can you use ventalin inhaler to help breathing?

Hope youre both better soon.

You might be right, Tambo. The coughing has been very violent. Thanks for your good wishes. x
I'd forgotten, until I read this thread, that the same thing happened to my mother some years ago. She had a really bad violent cough and then developed severe pain in her chest. My father had died from cancer the previous year and she was fearing the worst. It was confirmed that she had cracked a bone in her chest with all the coughing, and she was in tears of relief at the "good" news!
yes, sore muscles (if not broken bones) from all that coughing occurred to me too. I doubt it's pneumonia or you'd still be coughing to beat the band.
