It's all done by Oyster card now , few individual tickets sold .
Oyster card details here scroll down to prices but an oyster card fare 50% of the cash price.

Hammersmith is in Zone 2 and the Wembley stations are in Zone 4. A seven day travelcard covering zones 2 to 4 is £26.80 and a monthly is £103.

This will mean you cannot make your journey via zone 1. The most straightforward route (and almost certainly the quickest) is from Wembley Park to Baker Street and from there to Hammersmith. However, this would mean travelling through a large chunk of zone 1. Fares for zones 1 to 4 are £46.50 (weekly) and £178.60 (monthly).
easiest route (without using zone 1) would be bus 83 to Alperton then piccadilly line direct to Hammersmith

thanyou. seems expensive for these tubes, are buses far more cheaper to travel within london ?
You’d have to get two buses to make the journey, dick. Using Wembley Park as your starting point you’d have to get the 206 to Harlesden then the 200 from there to Hammersmith. It would take an hour and a half on a good day, probably a lot longer than that on most.

A single bus journey now costs £1.50 using an Oyster card or contactless debit card. However, daily usage is now capped at £4.50 so you’d be in for £22.50 for a five day week. For an extra £4.30 you can use the tube and even travelling without going into zone 1 it is certain to be quicker.
long way round, but if you could get to a London Overground station around Hammersmith you could get to and from Wembley without going into Zone 1. But you might do better looking for digs west of Hammersmith and bussing/training in.
Yes you could always travel from Wembley Central on the Bakerloo Line (or Overground) to Willesden Junction then change there for Overground to Kensington Olympia (should take less than 30 minutes) then a number 10 bus (there may be others) from there to Hammersmith (about ten minutes). No Zone 1 involved.
