Its istanbul What do you think the translation of salzburg is (40 a)
Saltzburg? Over spiced Mc Donalds product!? Try Salt Hill. 24a or 25b?
Question Author
thanks, hadn't thought of Istanbul =) Salzburg means "salt castle". People get confused because "berg" is the German word for mountain and "burg" is the word for castle.
Can someone please confirm 25a, d? Still looking for 25b & d of course!
25 a) has been confirmed as Marco Polo - someone foundthe identical image. Salzburg Can be translated to Salt Mountain apparently (someone mailed a link to a newspaper article that mentioned it). 25 d) is definitely Sir Morton Stanley - we found the same picture. Still stuck on 25 b) and not convinced on 24 a). Do you agree that 25 e) is Magellan or do you think John Cabot ?
Please explain - why is golden balls in istanbul?
Sorry misread it - 14 b) is Istanbul, 14 b) is Madrid cheers
Can someone say where is the 'Golden Balls' - is it Istanbul or Madrid??? 25b is Christopher Columbus - the exact picture is on the Corbis website
Question Author
I've decided to use the David Beckham answer (Madrid) after all. 25e is Vasco da Gama- the picture of the statue is on the Corbis site.
