Back in the days before digital technology, there was no blurring of sensitive parts of the image and, if anything, the BBC erred on the side of unexpurgated coverage for maximum shock value.
I'm not sure what bomb aftermath it was I saw but you could see a policeman cleaning up the body parts with a broom and I have had great sympathy for what they have to face, ever since. It would be unbroadcastable by today's soft standards.
For what it's worth, I was probably too young to mentally process what I was seeing (mid teens?) and it was a buried memory until less than a year ago. My memory is too fuzzy to say if it was in the 9 o'clock news but not the 6 o'clock or if they thoughtlessly put it out straight after The Magic Roundabout.
