Hello, Column J has one clue which will have to sit in the middle of the line to preserve the symmetry of the crossword

The column immediately next to it has three clues one, the middle one of which must also sit in the middle of the line to preserve the symmetry. I cannot avoid getting a letter from Column J and Column K next to each other but there isn't a clue for the row.

Have they made a mistake? Have you sorted out what it should be?

Tony - there is a sort of symmetry but I don't know what the proper name is for it - stick around and I'll give you a couple of answers and you'll see what I mean
Good afternoon Margo.Any news of Retro? Just checked and he hasn't posted since Thursday
Afternoon, both. Was retro at hospital for a check-up, or to stay in?
Check up Jo.
15a. Flattery X bunch X
7a X smock X platinum
The X represent blank squares so 15a is 7 square from the bottom and 7a is 7 from the top.
3a cycle X otherwise
19a agreement X exile
E(d) eyepatch X jets X torpedo
K(d) currant X euro X ruthless
Put those in and you should see the 'symmetry'
Afternoon Danny and Jo - I'll send him an e mail to see it he is OK and will let you know x
Thanks Margo.
Thank you :)
Margo, there is, as you say, a sort of symmetry, but there is none from top to bottom, about a horizontal centre line, but the symmetry about the vertical centre line is inverted on the right hand side. Not sure what one would call that?
No I'm not sure either Tony - all I know is that it had me scratching my head for a very long time before I worked it out. Fortunately I did it in pencil so got rid of all the blank squares I had put in, assuming it to br fully symmetrical, and started again. Let's hope next week's proves a little easier!
One or two of you mention working in pencil so that you can correct mistakes . I have a slightly different approach in that I photograph the puzzle then print it A4 size. So I can always re-print. Works a treat although the kids think it's a very 'old' thing to do ! Media URL: https://www.polaroidblipfoto.com/entry/2111177011341822208

Looks easier this week ?
Now we have the answers it seems that they have changed their rules "This must sit in the centre of the line to preserve the symmetry". BUNCH was not in the centre of the line!!! Complete waste of time.
