No- a hurricane is a tropical storm! and to have a tropical storm you need to be in the tropical regions of the world! for example the carribbean, indian ocean! they only occur within 5 degress to 20 degrees north and south of the equator! as the sea temp. has to be above 26^. they do not occur on the equator or within 5 degrees north or south because there is insufficient motion from the rotating Earth to start the storm spinninng.
i was in wales, quite a few years back now, but during my stay we were encounted by 'hurricane charlie' ???

I thought a hurricane was a wind above 73mph, so yes sure we can get them.

Hurricanes only occur N Atlantic Ocean, the NE Pacific Ocean east of the dateline(carribbean/florida etc), or the S Pacific Ocean. The same storm occurring over the NW Pacific Ocean west of the dateline is called a typhoon(india etc); one occurring over Australia and the Indian Ocean is a tropical cyclone, but the winds rotate clockwise.
It is winds over 74mph, we can get storms of that intensity but it would not be called a hurricane.
