They,thank God,don't have a country and economy to run so it is easy to impress the gullible what a good party they are. There are 4 million displaced Syrians. Over 2 million of those are in Turkey.

The number getting into boats from Turkey to Greece is a small percentage of the 2 million. The vast majority are staying in Turkey to return to Syria when the war finishes.

Virtually none of the illegal invaders using the Central Routes from North Africa to Italy and Spain are Syrian. They are mostly Eritreans, Nigerians, Malians and Somalians.
The Eastern route through Turkey is about 70% Syrians, and the rest Kurds, Afghans and Pakistanis. Though there are large numbers entering through the EU's external border, roughly 80% stay in Turkey as they want to return home after hostilities cease.

A few weeks back ,when we saw the tragic body of the baby washed up on the beach in Turkey, we had ,on AB, almost mass outrage and hysteria saying that all these poor refugees must be allowed into the UK under humaniterian grounds en masse.
When some here tried to persuade the gullible that they were NOT all genuine Syrian refugees but economic migrants we were shouted down as heartless by those whose hearts ruled their brain.
It is good to see that you have described the genuine strife torn refugees as staying close to home with the hope to return to their country if peace is restored and the rest are basically chancers only wishing to scrounge an existence from the UK taxpayer. Something that some of us had already realised.

Worth noting that all these people did not exodus 10, 5 years ago. They are not fleeing the Assad regime (some might want him gone), but they are trying to get out of the way of the war. If maniacs like ISIS are coming to your town, you leave if you want to survive. Presumably when those factors go, the people will want to return to their homeland.

The Ugandan Asoans had been expulsed for 7 years by the time Amin was gone. If the civil war drags on for another 7 years, I suspect most refugees will have settled, the majority in neighbouring countries, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan.
The ones that make it to Europe will not return whatever happens, they have already decided that they are leaving Syria for good.
