If I had seen that program emmie, I think I would have been as bemused as you and the presenter were, what did she expect, maybe standing in the grounds brought it home to her, leaves do fall in autumn and it is up to them to clear them away.

i should probably have put this in tv, but wasn't sure. I mention this because i watched a little bit of it the other day, and the couple were shown this lovely property, they went outside to look at the garden, grounds, it was a sizeable place, with lots of beautiful trees, and i swear the woman stood their poker faced and said that she would be worried about all these falling leaves in the autumn. I am pretty sure the presenter looked as though he wondered why they bothered.

Oh! Just think of all the fun kicking up the leaves, watching them change colour, waiting for the first greening of spring and perhaps the joy of blossom!
For many people the countryside is not a reality.
I have lived my life in towns and cities. Love visiting the countryside but not sure I am fitted to live there. Don't drive for one thing.
I think they pick the 'pickiest' people they can find for this programme. No one is ever happy with what they are shown. Ungrateful lot, I think.

i didn't know whether to laugh, what do they expect, the trees were so beautiful, falling leaves, who would have thunk it....
They only see three houses thought Tilly, I viewed a lot more than 3 before I finally settled where I am today, having said that i agree with you in some way, they give the producers a list of what they want with the budget they have and then nothing seems right, I find the kitchen or bathroom is mainly the selling point for them. I don't like all the cottages with the beams.
I watch it quite a lot. Only thing that spoils it is when that plonker does it, Jules is it?
Daytime TV emmie, just laugh at it
It amazes me when two people keep saying that the house is too small for them.
haven't seen it in a while now Prudie, is the guy still doing it that sang walking in the air
Question Author
not something i watch a lot, i have in the past, but this took the biscuit.
I saw that episode too. How the couple changed their wish list. From solitude (so she could play her piano without anyone hearing) to living in a complex with very close neighbours in a second home. How would they fund that and still keep their London flat under the Heathrow flight path?

I think I would be more concerned at planes falling from the sky than leaves from the trees! Maybe they just wanted their 15 minutes of fame stretched out a bit ;)
Question Author
i don't like Aled presenting it, better off sticking to Songs of Praise.
Well I think they're all repeats when I see it and a bit of a mishmash of presenters. You mean Aled Jones, but there is this guy, I'm sure he's called Jules with a really annoying laugh ad always takes them to properties over their budget, Plus there's Catherine thingy and at least a couple more.
ducksie - you mean Aled? He gets a right monk on when the couples criticise the shown properties. He looks as if a big sulk is imminent lol.
Question Author
leaves falling from the trees, surely that's the wonder of having a garden
Lord knows what that woman would do if the grass dared to grow in the summer!
