Thomson want copy of debit card??

Hey,

I have booked a last minute holiday with Thomson worldwide and received an email form UKSDWebadmin@tuispecialist.com telling me to call them. When I called they told me that they needed a copy of my debit card emailing/faxing to them. When I questioned why, I was told that they need it to confirm that I am one of the travelling passengers. Surely they can see this from the booking? I am sceptical to send a copy of my card to anybody and wondered if anybody had come accross this before? I have checked the number that I called and it is on the Thomson website as credit control, but I am yet to receive any correspondence apart from a booking confirmation number.

Any response greatly appreciated.

And to me.
Seek the advice of your card issuer.
I would contact the company again and tell them that you do not have access to a fax machine (as I am sure most people don't) and that you would have to be mad to even consider emailing a copy of your debit card. That's just asking for trouble! I would also ask how a copy of your debit card confirms that you are a travelling passenger. If they can explain that to you, then tell them that you will present your debit card upon check-in at the airport.
Contact Thompson directly - don't call the number on that email.
