I f you had a 1.00.p.m. flight to spain, would you go by car, risking all the hold ups on the m.25.?

or go by train, from Romford, to Liverpool street, then catching the train to the airport
(freedom pass)

What do you think is the best route to take . Thank you

from romford I'd go by car,

you'll only be using the M25 for a short distance and that stretch is normally OK

though of course if you do drive you'll have to pay parking at stansted!

I always think which would I prefer when I get back, when you're tired and hungry. You'll mainly be on the M11, not the M25. Also, you can always leave earlier to make sure you get there on time.

Or you can consider cost? Train fare, parking etc. Not sure whether you can get the Stansted Express on a Freedom Pass, if so, this would probably be more economical.

I would probably drive, rather than going into London to come out again.

Bon voyage
mid morning isnt usually that bad on that stretch on M25, though it may depend what day it is. If youre travelling the day before easter break most roads would be busy.

Get the Stansted Flyer:

http://www.gatwickflyer.co.uk/gatwickflyer.htm l

I know it says Gatwick but it also does Stansted now.
and if you are driving book your parking in advance as it is cheaper than turning up on the day.

Hiya -- just got back from having some lunch.

Now I'm sitting very happily going through your replies --
many many thanks --

Our hol starts on april 21 st.
we wont park at the airport - will get a lift there !(hopefully)
It does seem that m.25. is the quickest way there.
Maybe we will get the stanstead bus?
will get back to you in a minute -- thanks so much

p.s. forgot to say, that with freedom pass --

from liverpool st station to stansted , you only pay half the amount of the full fare. (with concession)
i was shocked to be told that., very surprised

Yo Ho Ho --

I've been chewing it over, and decided (up to now)
that the standstead express is the best bet so far.

I've just rang them up, just to enquire, and they said that the fare return for 2 of us is -- 56. Not bad ay.
From house to house, no hassle.
By train from liverpool st , for 2 of us return is --40 ish.
So it has to pick up from our house -- yippee
so many many thanks for all you replies.

much appreciated ! x pussking
Remember if your flight is 1pm you probably need to be there at 11am or so (check the paperwork that came with the tickets)
Question Author
We most certainly will be there 2 hours before.
I feel like being there at 6 in the morning --I do panic, haha.

thanks so much for taking time to answer me x pusskins
have you considered the Gatwick Flyer peple who are local to Romford and now do the Stansted Shuttle as well, they pick up up from your front door, you may have to stop and pick up others and they collect you from Stansted on the way back and drop you off back at your home. Very reasonable if you buy a return and if your return flight is delayed you just get on the next one.
They have never let us down and we have always been at check in with plenty of time to spare.
Alternative is the Nat Express bus which you pick up outside Stratford train station I think it runs every hour.
I was just about to suggest the gatwick flyer as well as they go to stanstead as well now and I use them every time I go to gatwick or stanstead and I think it will be safe at that time of day and anyway the m25 is just a junction of the m11 as the m11 takes you straight to stanstead

Whoops sorry pusskin have just seen your last but one post
Question Author
I do apologise for not getting back to you sooner .!!!(very busy)

We have decided to take the standstead flyer (gatwick ) to go to spain. from door to door -- thats great -- no hassle. its not any more () than bus & train travel. saves time.

so -- thank you all so much for your replies

bye x pusskins

gratefully recieved
