Think they have a maritime museum,and they have just opened a massive shopping complex called liverpool one, loads to do, a excellent museum,of course the wigwam!!!

The Albert dock area is interesting, right on the river front.

Plenty to see and do there.

The maritime museum is in that area and was free to enter when I was there. Very interesting.

The large old buildings in the centre have the famous "liver birds" statues on them.

You can get a trip on a military vehicle that goes round the town and also in to the water round these old docks.

There is a History of Slavery museum in the docks. In there is a photo of slaves which is one of the most shocking on the subject that I have seen.

It is not a violent picture but it, and the subjects faces, says so much.

If I never go back to Liverpool (tho I hope to) I think I will always remember that...

There's also the Museum at Liverpool Football Club, if you're into that kind of thing.

Both Cathedrals are worth a visit.

Cocktails at the Pan Am at Albert Dock.

There's some interesting shops up Bold Street (walk up Church Street with Marks and Spencers on your left and Primark on your right, cross over the road at the traffic lights and walk on up). I have always wanted to do the Duckmarine tour it's amphibious and people always look as if they are having fun. Shame that the only time that I am in Liverpool is when I am getting on or off the vomit comet to the Isle Of Man. note to self ....plan ahead for next trip over.

The "duck" tour is good. Goes round the centre of the city first pointing out the sites then takes to the water round the Albert Dock. St Georges Hall opposit Lime St Station is a nice surprise. Lovely building inside - magistrates court, cells, beautiful main hall, lovely small theatre - guided tours cost about �3. You MUST go to the Philharmonic pub and go into the Gents toilets. They're listed and a must see. Even the girlies go in for a look. The Crack pub nearby is also a must. Chintown is worth a visit. The MeiMei on Berry Street has great food. Bistro Pierre in Button Street has excellent value meals but you must book. Don't forget Anfield and Everton, the stadium tours are well run.
