depends on the nature of the job, whether you get to buy a home, and how the set up compares with what you have right now. And how you feel about Canadian winters. But I wouldn't expect the credit crunch to be noticeably worse in Canada than here.

The difference is, of course, the bail out.

Be made redundant in the UK from a job you have been in for some years = redundancy pay and at least some sort of benefits if and when you need it.

What would you get if you were made redundant in Canada?

that's what they say - you're more likely to regret the things you didn't do than the things you did. Good luck whichever way you decide

Having family in Ontario for over 30 years and being a frequent visitor I can tell you that if you work hard you will get on if you dont you are out, (last in first out also they do tend to look after Canadians first in these instances) no middle messing out there, also as mentioned the winters can be very cold and cruel, it allways looks rosy from over here but there is a lot to think about, , medical insurance, driving, winter weather, no government pay outs for out of work hot humid summer, I absolutely love visiting Canada but not sure at all if I could live and work there. As you say though IF you want something that bad and are happy to get stuck in then go for it. GOOD LUCK
