currency in mexico

im going to cancun, mexico in november, should i take peso's or american dollars?

Either is acceptable, but you get a better deal in shops if you pay in pesos. Most price in pesos, but if you pay in dollars, they give a really bad rate of exchange. Taking a little of each is the best bet - there are plenty of cash points.
