Camping Gear

Hi, I'm looking for some camping kit or gizmos to make my trips to music festivals this summer that little bit more enjoyable. Does anyone have any favourites or wishlist items? Thanks.

enjoyable? How do you mean? Camping isnt about having luxuries, especially at music festivals. All I need was a tent, some clothes and a sleeping bag, oh and a hat to cover my greasy hair :-)

Lots of camping / outdoor shops now sell special 'instant' erection (no tittering!) tents in very distinctive colours, so that you can instantly identify them in the huge mass of others (or at least spot one like yours which some other plonker has bought!).

Bear with me on this but pet shops (and some supermarkets) are selling flashing LED lights (supposedly for your dog) but which would be cool to hang on your tent to make it 'findable'. They're only a couple of quid for one with spare batteries!

that's been my usual gear for the last seven years but i'm a bit more flush this year so thought i'd splash out on some bits to turn my tent into a palace. a damp, sweaty palace.

I find the more noticable your tent the more its likely to be raided of its contents

An airbag for under your sleeping bag, best advice I ever had....no longer the Travelodge for me
