You should try and visit a sukh - a local market. they are incredibly atmospheric, but wear long trousers, the men will be totally freaked by ladies' legs on show. If you take pictures, be careful, the locals don't like it, and can cut up rough, espcially the men if you photograph the ladies. The stalls are biblical, but if possible, go with a guide, it's easy to get lost.
It's not that straightforward getting to Morocco from Malaga. There's a ferry to Melilla, which is a Spanish enclave within Morocco, but this ferry takes about 8 hrs, and you're still not in Morocco proper. The shortest ferry run (2 or 3 hrs) to Tangiers in Morocco is from Algeciras, (near Gibraltar) which is itself a couple of hours from Malaga. All in all, therefore, it would not really be practical go to Morocco for the day, from Malaga.
I went to Tangiers for a day on the ferry from Algeciras but there wasn't much time for serious shopping.
