Anyone have any insight on what's going on with Alitalia airlines? I had made plans to fly from Spain to France this fall, but now I'm not so sure. Any better ideas that aren't too costly?

Alitalia is in deep trouble.

However, as Alitalia is an Italian airline, it shouldn't affect your plans to travel from Spain to France.

Where are you travelling from in Spain and to where in France?

I'll be flying from Barcelona to Paris. Alitalia seemed to have a good price and the right itinery for me. But after all I've heard, I think I'll be buying tickets elsewhere. Just out looking for a decent airfair.
There seem to be plenty of flights from Barcelona (BCN) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or Orly (ORY). Have a look at EasyJet http://www.easyjet.com/splash.asp?lang=en but read the terms and conditions carefully.

I'm surprised you found that Alitalia operate direct flights between Spain and France. Are you sure?
Ryanair fly from Gerona that's just north of Barcelona, to Paris Beauvais. You can get some really good prices.
