Travelling to Australia for a year in May 2008, with a stop over of 10 days in Bangkok on the way there, and Hong Kong on the way home.

I've read a bit about Hostel Discount cards, YHA, HI, Nomads & VIP, but I want to know which is best to go with. Is it better to buy them all, buy one as the check in at one of the hostels that accepts these cards, not bother at all, gamble and just choose one?

I've also picked up a leaflet for an ISIC Crad,a nd am wondering if �9 for it is worth the gamble for it being useful or not....any ideas on this too?

I'm travelling with my partner, do we both need cards, or just one of us, it the discount on the room, if its a hostel discount, or on the person?

Any help appreciated.
