Can anyone tell me, do they take US dollars in Peru?

The U.S. Dollar is widely accepted in Peru. You'll find official exchange centers easy to find. Try not to take too many traveler's checks though, since they are usually have a much lower exchange rate...
Peru is the only country i know of where the ATM's give out money in 'local' or 'US$'
