Virgin Atlantic V005 and V006 LHR to Miami and return. What type of aircraft usually services this route (September and October) and also, if its a 747, what class of seat is in the upstairs bit, premium economy or Upper? Hope there's a Pam Ann out ther can help me with this :)

Well I go Virgin a lot to LA so its probably the same, they are always a 747 or an airbus depending on which time of day you go. You don't get to go upstairs, you either are in economy with all the rabble (which ain't too bad) or premium economy which is just further down towards the front end with slightly bigger seats and slightly better food and just a curtain to separate you from the economy, or you are in first class which is fabulous and you have the best of everything including massages, beauty treatments, full size bed, proper menu eat when you like etc. etc. . If you go to their website I think there is a section which shows you all the sorts of planes. You can choose your seat if you book online, or move it about at least.

cheers for answering so quickly! Hmm, what do they put in the top deck on the 747's then? I'm in Premium Economy, can't quite afford the dizzy heights of Upper yet :)
Most Virgin 747's have Premium on the top deck and some have a mix of Premium and Upper. You need to know which aircraft you are going on.
