ok so this may sound like a completley idiotic question but i remember reading somewhere that you can't actually go in any of the tombs in the pyramids in egypt? is this true?
At the Great Pyramid at Giza you can go, I think, as far as the King's Chamber. Visitor numbers are limited and the walk down the galleyway is quite cramped as you need to bend over a bit - not for the claustrophobic!!
You can go into the pyramids but they are very dark and hot and you have to almost crawl along. Not good if you get panicy in closed spaces. The best way to see them in comfort is at the sound and light show in the evening. You sit in a lovely newly built, open air auditorium and have a fabulous view of the pyramids. If you go to them it is hot dusty and you get pestered by beggars and salesmen.
