Visiting the UK - Visa's

Hi,
I have a Thai friend who is currently studying in Germany, I would like him to visit the UK but not sure if his visa will let him, it states that it is for europe but does this include UK? or does he need to obtain a further visa?? It seems stupid as he only wants a weeks holiday here during mid term. Can anyone offer any advice please as to what he or i need to do.

He will need another visa for the UK. Britain didn't sign the schengen agreement with the rest of Europe, so a visa to Europe won't allow him to travel to the UK.
