france to spain

hello, i have a lift to nice, south east france, and want to get to granada, south eastish spain, overland....i'm not sure if i can go around the pyranese along the eastern coast, the maps look like it but i don't want to risk it...anyone know???? and, if so do you think there'll be traffic to hitch OR is there any busses/trains people know i could take and not have to go to madrid??? thanks, happy travels!!!
