Over stayed in the car park at Morrisons Reading and got a ticket for £50 for our trouble. We spent over £90 in all there already.

Won't be stopping over time there again so the system works

We did over £70 shopping and £25 in the cafe.
Apparently private companies cannot issue fines, they are invoices.
And you can challenge them on the grounds that they are exorbitant.

I think the Private Company at Reading are called Paid Parking Company. They actually need permission to put up advertising signs (which the parking signs are), and they have been known to not bother getting permission from the council, and thus are working illegally.

They must have had permission from Morrisons as it was their car park.

I fail to see how any landowners loss could be £50 for over staying in the car park.

OH will just pay it. I would challenge it if it were me though.

The funny thing is I now work at Morrisons, but not the one in Reading where the ticket came from.

My Morrison's car park is free.
There is no company named Paid Parking Company currently registered as a member with the British Parking Association.

The company is called Paid Parking Company
That is very strange - I need not type Paid Parking Company, I typed

P A R K I N G E Y E ?
You can't type the company name on here due to legal issues.
Why just pay it? Especially if you work at (another) Morrisons. Take it up with them. You were inside their store spending.
I got a ticket in Aldi car park last year. I didn't pay it. Received one reminder. After that they never contacted me again.
How bizarre
The
The problem is that the shop is reasonably near the town centre and otherwise people would park there and walk into town to avoid parking charges.
Do not pay it they will threaten but research Internet to believe me
