I came across this pendulum the other day, and I'm wondering if anyone on here has any idea who this man could be?

Somebody from the Swinging Sixties? 1860's of course.
It might help if you had a bit of history of the pendulum...date and country for starters.
^^^Abe Lincoln was my initial thought - but the beard style doesn't fit.

That's absolutely all I have to go on: No clock movement; no case; nothing. For some reason I'm thinking he's European rather than American. A composer, politician, writer from the 19th century?
Put the image in https://tineye.com stuey. It might come up with something
I've tried it through Tineye and Google Images, so far nothing.
Pendant?
Question Author
Thanks, mazie and mammy for doing that. It's a pendulum from an old clock. cleodog.
It could equally be the person who commissioned the clock or the clockmaker himself.
He has quite an Amish beard....could the clock have been american?
IT'S SANTA !!
He looks like the founder of a religion or sect. But he doesn't seem to be Joseph Smith ( mormons)
Can you take the pic from another angle to make the man clearer. Google may be able to work out who he is on a reverse search - like what mamy did.
Question Author
I don't actually have the pendulum. I took this one photo of it when I saw it. In the 19th Century, the major European clock makers were in Germany and France, so I think the man is probably from one of those countries. The style of the suspension rod at the top of the pendulum doesn't look American to me.
John Brown(abolitionist) ?

Definitely Kruger as Jno says. Look at images of a Kruger Rand.
Question Author
That's him...You got it! When I looked at JNO's picture from yesterday, I didn't think so; however, Dannyk's more or less proves it. Thanks to all of you.
